    TOPIC: "Quietude"

    閑かさや岩にしみ入る蝉の声
quietude. the cicada’s voice permeates the cliffs

As more and more municipalities around the world are moving to stay-at-home orders, closed public spaces, and quarantine orders due to the spread of the SARS-2 Coronavirus, a primal quiet is returning to the world. As the streets, plazas, parks and other facilities empty, many areas have taken on a kind of quiet that may have been entirely forgotten by the inhabitants.

This is, for many, a time of quiet reflection, and possibly, a chance to view a slower pace, a world where animals return to areas once claimed by crowds of people, where the skies clear of pollution and families spend more time in each other's company. This month's prompt asks for poems about silence, works of quiet reflection, or works that enter the space that our collective withdrawal from the outside has engendered throughout the world. Poems need not mention any keyword word directly, but are to draw into the space left between sounds.

poems #34 and #35 are the same and two different poems for #67. One poem is missing. April kukai voting list should be verified and sent again, I think.
